JPS Diner Salford is the controller for personal information collected through this website. You can contact us using the details shown on this page.

Information we collect

When you order, we collect the details needed to fulfil and support that order: your name, phone number, email address if provided, delivery address for delivery orders, order contents, payment method, payment status, delivery notes and kitchen notes.

We may also store technical records needed for security, fraud prevention, payment confirmation, delivery postcode checks, print status and admin audit logs.

We use first-party traffic analytics to understand how the website is being used. This records page views, ordering steps, a signed anonymous visitor identifier, a 30-minute visit identifier, device type, campaign tags and the originating website where available. We do not store raw IP addresses for this reporting and the identifiers do not contain your name or contact details.

How we use it

We use this information to process, prepare, deliver or make available your order, contact you about the order, handle support requests, process refunds where applicable, keep accounting records, protect the website and improve the service.

Our usual lawful bases are contract, because the information is needed to provide your order, legal obligation for accounting and tax records, and legitimate interests for security, service improvement and resolving order disputes.

Website traffic analytics are used only to measure visitor numbers, popular pages and ordering trends so the diner can improve the website and service.

Customer accounts

If you choose an account, we store your verified email, optional name and phone, saved delivery addresses, linked orders and reward-credit activity. A secure account cookie keeps you signed in. Guest checkout remains available, and account registration does not subscribe you to marketing. You can remove saved addresses in your account or contact us about closing your account.

Offers and promotions

Checkout offers one optional choice for JPS Diner email and SMS promotions. If you opt in, we record your choice with the contact details on your order, the date, and the consent wording shown. We use consent as the basis for these promotions. You can place an order without opting in and will still receive order updates.

You can withdraw your marketing consent at any time by calling the store on 07562 839137. Withdrawing consent does not affect your orders.

Customer reviews

After an order, you may choose to leave a rating and comment. Showing your review publicly is optional. If you agree, we check it before publication and show only your first name, rating and approved comment. We do not publish your email, order details or full name. You can ask us to remove a published review by calling the store on 07562 839137.

Sharing information

We only share information where needed to run the service, such as with payment providers, website hosting, email/SMS or order-printing services, delivery staff and professional advisers if required. We do not sell customer information.

Retention

We keep identifiable order information only for as long as needed for order fulfilment, customer support, refund/dispute handling, accounting and legal obligations. Older customer contact and address details should be deleted or anonymised when they are no longer needed, while non-identifying sales totals may be retained for reporting.

Individual website analytics events are aggregated and deleted after 45 days. Anonymous daily totals are retained for up to 13 months. The anonymous visitor cookie can remain on your device for up to 13 months and the visit cookie expires after 30 minutes of inactivity.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your personal information. Some rights depend on the reason we are using the information and we may need to keep limited records where required by law or to deal with disputes.
